The lack of infrastructure necessary for the Agriculture sector (greenhouse, school garden) in the premises of the ENEEGYL Orestiada, “gave rise” to the need to seek solutions so that teaching and learning are shaped in a framework of autonomy, initiatives and equal opportunities.
The main objective is the construction of a school garden in the school yard.
The “necessity” of implementing the action is: a) lack of space for teaching laboratory courses in the Agriculture sector b) the creation of a school garden through experiential teaching and discovery learning that will enhance students’ interest in knowledge and encourage their active participation in this process. c) The promotion of interdisciplinary learning with the involvement of teachers of different specialties, the strengthening of students’ environmental awareness and their engagement with the environment. d) activating creativity, self-motivation and encouraging the active involvement of all in the learning process e) Stimulating the spirit of cooperation and collective action between students and teachers f) ensuring the right of all students to be included in the educational environment where they will have more favorable learning opportunities and g) raising the awareness of students from neighboring schools on issues of disabilities and environmental awareness.
This action plan is a good practice that other schools can follow as an example. Through the process of planting vegetables, students come into contact with nature and learn to produce their own food, which can strengthen their love and respect for it.
