We are happy to present the next webinar in our series Global Goals, Local Impact: Sustainably Ever After! The webinars in this series are free of charge and conducted in English.
Stefan Hey has a background in Maize genetics, where he did his PhD at the University of Bonn followed by a postdoc in the Schnable lab at Iowa State University. He recently turned entrepreneur and co-founded the vertical farming start-up vGreens with the focus on data driven indoor production of strawberries to address fruit production under increasingly challenging climatic conditions.
We’ll dive into the challenges of food production that await us as climate change continues to progress, and explore innovative tools and strategies to address these pressing issues. From sustainability to technological advancements, we’ll examine how we can rethink agriculture for a more resilient future. Finally, we’ll take a closer look at the role vertical farming can play in transforming food systems.
Teachers, in particular, will gain valuable insights into how these topics connect to science, technology, and sustainability education—offering real-world examples to inspire students and enrich classroom discussions. Whether you’re an educator looking for engaging content or simply curious about the future of food, this webinar will provide thought-provoking perspectives and practical takeaways.
