We choose the topic of The Role of the Honey Bee in Sustainable Citizenship — an inquiry-led project designed for 6th class pupils in Ireland. At its heart is one tiny yet powerful pollinator: the honeybee. Through science, geography, maths, and the arts, pupils explore how bees support biodiversity, food security, and sustainable practices — all while developing the key competences of active, sustainability-minded citizens.This project is rooted in real-world learning.
