In an Upper Secondary (IB MYP4-5) class at SSHL, students engage in a 6-8 hour scenario across 3-4 lessons to explore energy consumption and efficiency. The goals are to raise awareness, empower students to design sustainable solutions using real-life data, and foster responsibility and systems thinking. Activities link to SDGs 7, 12, and 13, promoting green competencies like critical thinking and collaboration. Students work with energy efficiency experts and the school’s maintenance/IT team to implement smart lighting solutions. Outcomes are shared via school events, newsletters, and extended to other schools through NEB LAB and Synapses networks.
