In this series of lessons, students will explore the issue of food waste, starting with what it means to them personally, then zooming in on how it affects our school community. We’ll investigate the causes of food waste by interviewing the school kitchen staff and designing a student-led survey to gather wider opinions and data.
Once we’ve identified key problem areas, we’ll analyse the results and develop practical action plans. These will be shared with the school through a creative and informative assembly, aimed at raising awareness and inspiring positive change. The project encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world problem solving, with the ultimate goal of reducing food waste both in school and at home.
