In this lesson, students will work in small groups to investigate the environmental impact of a clothing item produced by a brand of their choice. This project-based task encourages students to engage critically with the global fashion industry by examining the production, resource use, and distribution involved in bringing a garment to market. The students will work in groups of four, choosing a clothing brand and then selecting a specific clothing item (e.g., a cotton T-shirt, denim jeans, or a hoodie). They will explore how the item is made, considering raw material sourcing, water usage, energy consumption, labour, transportation, and overall environmental footprint.
